June Smalls
June has been creating stories since her only audience was stuffed animals or pets, June first had a poem published in 1st grade.
Now
June Smalls writes fiction and nonfiction books that are funny, educational, odd, and entertaining for both the educational and trade markets including the Leads series, Hear Them Roar! 14 Endangered Animals from Around the World, and Odd Animal ABC’s and the upcoming Digging for Dinosaurs series.
June loves research almost as much as writing and would love to dig up a dinosaur, study sea turtles, or track wild elephants! She lives in northern Virginia with her family and an ever-growing assortment of animals.
Fun Facts
June has swam with sharks, fed tigers, bears, giraffes, sting rays and sea turtles, met an elephant, rode a camel, came face to face with a wild skunk, and was bitten by an emu...twice.
She has hiccups EVERY DAY!
